Overview
The Storage module helps manage your supplies inventory. It enables you to monitor items as they are taken and distributed across various properties and to track their costs. Team members use Boom's app to request items. Any costs associated with items distributed to a property will be added to that property's expenses and reflected in the Profit and Loss statement.
The module consists of three sections:
Requests: Displays all item requests, which can be tracked in this section.
Inventory: Manages the inventory items; allows for adding new items, quantities, and costs.
History: Tracks all actions made within the module.
Inventory
This section manages your storage and inventory items. Below is an overview of the interface:
Search button - Allows you to search for specific items in your inventory.
Category - Displays items related to a selected category or type.
Storage - Choose a specific storage to view items or select 'All' to display items from all storages.
Check to to display items with zero quantity or only three items left.
Export - Download a spreadsheet containing a list of your inventory items.
New Item - Add a new item to your inventory.
Inventory Items List: A list of all existing inventory items.
To begin using the Storage module and adding your inventory items, start by creating your first storage.
Add Storage
To start adding inventory items, you first need to create a storage location. Multiple storages can be added as required.
Follow these steps:
Open the Storage module and go to the 'Inventory' section.
Click on the
icon next to the Storage field.Enter the storage information:
Nickname: Assign a name for easy identification.
Address: Specify the storage location.
Select contractor: Choose a manager responsible for the storage.
Click "Save" to finalize the setup.
Add Inventory Items
To add an inventory item, follow these steps
Open the Storage module and go to the 'Inventory' section.
Click on the "New Item" button

Enter the item information:
SKU (Optional): Enter the SKU, if available.
Title: Name your item.
Category: Select the appropriate category.
Price: Specify the unit price.
Markup (Optional): Apply any markup percentage.
Initial Amount: State the total quantity of the item you have.
Min amount alert: Set a threshold for minimum stock alerts.
Storage: Select the storage location of the item.
Date of arrival: Input the date the item was received.
Item's Dimensions (optional): Provide the height, width, and depth.
Upload Media: Add a picture of the item.
Click "Save" to store the item details in the system.
Navigate to the to "Requests" section and click on the "Marked as Entered" button to approve the item's addition
and click "Yes" on the confirmation popup window
Edit Inventory Item
To edit an inventory item, simply click on the desired item from the list in the 'Inventory' section and make your adjustments.
To delete any item, click on the trash icon
next to the desired item
Requests
The "Requests" section is the default page you see when you open the Storage module. Here, your team can make requests for items. Each request is linked to a specific property, to which the expense for the item will be charged. Requests can be made using the Boom app or the web version.
Create New Inventory Request
Inventory requests can be made using the mobile app or through the web interface.
Using the Mobile app:
This method will mainly be used by teammates and contractors on field
Open the Boom app and select "Storage" from the main menu
Click on the "Create New Request" button

Under "Type of Action" select "Take"
Select the storage you're taking the item from
Select the listing the item is for
Date (keep as is for TODAY)
Search for the item you wish to take
Enter the amount
Add notes if desired
Click on "Save"
Using the Web interface:
Open the Boom and select "Storage" from the main menu
Click on the "Create New Request" button

Under "Type of Action" select "Take"
Select the storage you're taking the item from
Select the listing the item is for
Date (keep as is for TODAY)
Search for the item you wish to take
Enter the amount
Add notes if desired
Click on "Save"
Newly requested items will appear on the “Requests” page.
When an item is taken from storage, the storage manager should click the “Mark as Taken” button
to confirm, which will remove the item from the inventory count.
History
The History section allows you to view and track all activities conducted within the Storage module.
