This guide explains how to configure the Guest Portal to manage digital check-in, guest requirements, payments, special requests, and the guest store.

Use this setup to streamline check-in, securely collect guest information, and offer add-ons for an enhanced guest experience.

โš ๏ธ Requires a connected Stripe account

Available settings

  • Enable paywalls for:

    • Accommodation fees

    • Deposits

    • Damage waivers

  • Manual Credit Card Charge option:

    • โœ… Enabled: You process charges manually

    • โŒ Disabled: System automatically processes charges


๐Ÿ‘ค Guest Requirements

Control what information guests must submit during check-in.

Channel Settings

  • Exclude specific booking channels from completing registration

Basic Settings

Customize how guests interact with the portal.

  • Hide room number until check-in day

  • Require guest signature to confirm agreement with terms

  • Enable optional guest names

    • Guests are not required to enter all occupant names

    • If enabled, disable โ€œRequest Guest Details Only for Primary Guestโ€ under Require Guest Details

  • Prevent guests from modifying the guest count

  • Show parking availability to guests


Guest Details

You may require guests (including the primary guest) to provide:

  • Passport number

  • ID number

  • Photo ID upload

  • Address

  • Email

  • Phone number

Additional controls

  • Exclude booking channels from ID upload requirements

  • Allow one-time or multiple edits after submission to let guests update their information

Optional enhancements for guest experience:

  • Share a Travel Guide with:

    • Local recommendations

    • Insider tips

๐Ÿ” Portal Settings

Door Code Management

You can configure:

  • How long door codes remain active after checkout

  • Whether to append a # to door codes

  • Display listing title instead of internal nickname

  • Require manual guest approval before door codes are shown


๐Ÿ“„ Optional Messages, Terms and Conditions & Additional Document

Optional Messages (Opt-in Message)

An Opt-in Message is a prompt or checkbox shown to guests when they register their mobile number in the Guest Portal.

  • By checking this box, guests explicitly consent to receive messages from your service

  • Using an opt-in message helps ensure transparent communication and protects your business from compliance issues

Use this setting to clearly explain what type of messages guests may receive (e.g., check-in instructions, alerts, or updates).



Additional Documents

  • If your property requires additional documentation (for example, a B2 slip), you can configure it here.

    You can:

    • Define the document title and description

    • Specify whether the document is required for:

      • Foreign guests only, or

      • Specific listings

    This ensures that only relevant guests are prompted to upload the required documents.


    Terms & Conditions

    • Boom provides a default set of Terms & Conditions

    • You may fully customize these terms to align with your business policies and legal requirements

    Customizing your Terms & Conditions ensures guests clearly understand your rules, responsibilities, and agreements before completing check-in.


๐ŸŽ Special Requests

Use this section to add complimentary or free guest requests.

How to add a request

  1. Click Add Request

  2. Enter the request item

Configuration options

  • Request type:

    • Counter-based (with a maximum quantity)

    • Yes / No option

  • Display request only if the listing includes specific amenities


๐Ÿ›’ Store Configuration

Offer paid or inquiry-based add-ons through the guest portal.

Common examples

  • Early check-in

  • Late checkout

  • Pool heater

  • Extra cleaning

  • Other services

Adding a store item

  1. Click + Store Item

  2. Choose:

    • Direct purchase, or

    • Inquiry only

Item details

Each item can include:

  • Name

  • Logo or icon

  • Description

  • Bullet points of inclusions

  • Disclaimer (optional)

  • Required guest confirmation

Automation & availability

  • Select a catalog to auto-create a task when purchased

  • Set an availability window, or leave unrestricted

Pricing & payments

  • Pricing type:

    • Fixed price

    • Dynamic pricing formula

  • Payment method:

    • Automatic capture

    • Manual charge

Finance & listing controls

  • Set owner percentage share

  • Control availability using:

    • Listing whitelists

    • Listing blacklists

Enabling the store

  • Toggle Store On (top-right corner) to make the store visible to guests
