Integrating with Slack allows you to get updates on reservations and tasks in a specific channel. This is useful for monitoring particular details, and your team can use Slack for communication. Currently, the channels are restricted to those predefined by the system. For a list of available channels, refer to Step 3 of this document.

Before you can connect your Slack account with Boom, you will need to obtain a Slack Webhook URL. Follow the below steps.

Connection Process

Step 1 - Obtain a WEBHOOK_URL in Slack

  1. Install the β€œIncoming WebHooks” app on your Slack account if you haven't already done so.

    Slack Webhook App
  2. Under "Post to Channel", select any of your channels, and click "Add Incoming WebHooks integration"

πŸ’‘ You can choose any channel. This will not affect the integration
  3. You will now see your Slack Webhook URL under "Setup Instructions". Copy it, we will use it next within Boom.

Step 2 - Configure your Slack integration in Boom

  1. In Boom open the "Settings" page and navigate to the "Integrations" tab

  2. Locate Slack and click on "Settings"

  3. Click on "Connect" and paste the Slack Webhook URL you copied earlier.

  4. click on save.

Step 3 - Create Slack Channels

After integrating your Boom account with your Slack account, you'll gain the capability to route content from Boom to designated Slack channels.

To enable this feature, you'll need to create matching channel names in Slack (as shown below). This will prompt Boom to automatically push relevant content to the corresponding Slack channel.

When connecting Boom to a Region Slack channel, it will push all the relevant Service calls and content to the specific region. This includes any maintenance tasks, including indications of new reservations, same day booking and check-in/out time changes relevant to that region.

To set up the region with a Slack channel:

  1. Create a new Slack channel for the region and copy its name if it doesn't exist, or simply copy the name if the channel already exists.

  2. In Boom: Navigate to Settings ⏡ Regions.
