WhatsApp Onboarding
As part of our services, BOOM offers WhatsApp as a communication channel through the API, allowing for seamless messaging. Here's a summary of the steps to get started with WhatsApp:
During your onboarding with Boom, you will be asked to fill out this form.
Provide an access to your Meta Business Account, by sending an invitation to [email protected]. This is required to link it with the Twilio (service provider) and the subaccount we have created for you.
Boom will work on Twilio—the backbone of automated messaging worldwide—to purchase a number for you and set up your WhatsApp. Note that this number will also be used for SMS communication within Boom CRM.
Once connected, we will collaborate with you on WhatsApp templates.
⚠️ Note: Twilio is currently experiencing significant delays in processing new requests, which may result in longer setup times. If we need additional information from you, we will reach out directly.
WhatsApp Template Submission
WhatsApp uses pre-approved message templates for initiating conversations with users. These templates are essential for businesses to communicate with customers, as they allow businesses to send messages without first requiring the user to opt-in or send a message. To submit a template for approval:

Navigate to Templates tab then click

Variables - add the parameters to be added, and make sure to include a sample value
Message Body - When adding the parameters or variables in the message body, ensure that it is enclosed in double curly braces (e.g {{guest_name}} )
ℹ️ To prevent Meta from rejecting your template, make sure the message body does not begin or end with a variable. Additionally, the total message length must not exceed 1,024 characters.

How Templates Work
There are two ways to use WhatsApp templates:
Automated Messages
Automated Messages
Go to the Guests module and navigate to Automated Messages.
Click

Configure your automated message settings, and at the bottom, set the messaging channel to WhatsApp, and select the pre-approved template you want to use.
Once set, your automated messages will be sent to guests via WhatsApp, provided they have WhatsApp.
💡 Important: Pre-approved templates cannot be edited or modified.
Note: Before sending a free-form message, businesses must first send a pre-approved WhatsApp template message to initiate the conversation. Once the user responds, a 24-hour messaging window opens, during which businesses can send free-form messages. After the 24-hour window closes, another template message is required to restart the conversation.
